Awesome finale to this mini-series. It was really nice hearing the Goranger theme song again, along with seeing that Goranger Hurricane reference.
My only complaint was that the battle against Dai Satan was a bit too short, but that's understandable given that all of this was to be sandwiched into one episode.Seeing the new Ryuusouger in action was great too. I didn't expect Rita to wear the armor but to be frank, I'm very glad that she didn't die in the battle. As Stinger pointed out, she didn't seem to be evil by nature, but rather was misguided by a series of unfortunate events. I'm really hoping we'll be able to see her again somewhere down the line, hopefully as a heroine.All in all, I really, really enjoyed this mini-series. Seeing some old faces again was great, and being able to bring different teams together is what truly makes Super Sentai shine in my opinion.
I know this special was mainly done as a transition to mark the end of the Heisei era in Japan, but I really hope they do more of these in general from now on. While the story was nothing to write home about, the overall feeling I got from watching this four part special was pure glee. There were a lot of callbacks and references that just made me happy to see as a long-time fan. Tons of fanservice too.I like how Stinger got his big scene in with him relating to Rita's backstory, though the use of his insert song from Episode of Stinger was a little heavy-handed. This kinda leaves Takaharu without a big moment but at least everyone else got great representation.
Luka got a sizeable role and had a great out-of-suit fight, as did the rest of the main cast. Bummer that Rita ended up having an inconsequential relation to Dai-Satan and Zyuranger history, but the reference was fun regardless.Loved the final battle against Dai-Satan with all the Rangers turning into their super modes, but the transition between the CG flying scene to the slow-motion practical explosions was a little jarring. The Gorenger-inspired finisher, complete with the song, was just awesome.The Ryusoul Black and Green debut fight against Gaisorg was phenomenal.
Fantastic choreography, high-energy, and the use of the opening theme was hype asf. I also like that it gives the early-bird cameo spotlight to non-red Rangers, and I have a feeling the two will be fan-favourites when Ryusoul finally debuts next week. And looks like we have a direct connection to the first episode as the blank Ryusoul becomes the Red Ranger Ryusoul in the master's hands.Overall, a strong finale that left me smiling. Just watch it RAW. I wonder who the person at the end was.This series reminds me why Marvelous is my favorite red, and Luka is my favorite female ranger. It might be just me but does it shiptease Marvelous and Luka?
Not that I am complaining.Need to watch subs to know Rita's dialogue with Stinger though. I seriously consider watching Kyuuranger because of this.Based on my (non-existant) Japanese, does Takaharu hands over the fragment to Yamato so he can make his wish come true?
I wish they close that plot point though.Ryusoul Black is really cool. Actually all Ryusoul toys gimmick seems really cool. Given that I am kinda disappointed with LuPat I think I am gonna wait and watched after the series ends.
While I liked it, there wasn't too much to it. Most of the good will was getting to spend time with Kagura, Stinger, and Yamato again. Takaharu was kept pretty well in check, so I couldn't be annoyed by him.Overall, not a bad little bit of fan service, but not essential unless you really dig the members of team weirdo (which I do).Also, Captain Marvelous is officially the Tommy of Super Sentai.
If it's still going in 10 years (which would be fine with me) he's still going to be showing up, lol. Why not either make ultimate satan human size or just allow the main cast to use their respective megazords?If Dai Satan was made human size it would be a downgrade. He was so big in Zyuranger/MMPR he was literally a gigantic floating head. So getting smaller would mean he's weaker. The point was that he was supposed to be stronger.Also, anybody else notice the abusive relationship between Luca and Marvelous that never actually existed in Gokaiger?I took this as strong hints that they may actually be dating now in cannon. Marvelous, while secretly caring for his teammates has never been THIS distraught before..
