Massey Ferguson Post Hole Digger Manual

Xg 760n sagem driver for mac. My massey ferguson 1540 has a vertical set of 3 pt top link holes, the manual (checked today) is vague recommending which hole to put a PHD in, I think I have it in a good spot. I made a holder for it today, on top of the pallet it came on. Glad I did, bit of an effort to get it hooked up. (Always find first time is the hardest.). Heavy Equipment Post Hole Digger Attachments, Hydraulic Post Hole Diggers, Skid Steer Post Hole Diggers, Massey Ferguson Garden Tractors, Heavy Equipment Decals for Massey Ferguson, massey ferguson 35 tractor, Massey Ferguson Brochure, massey ferguson 165 tractor, massey ferguson super 90.

Going to be digging some holes in hard shale, will Ford 903 survive used on a tractor with down pressure?

Not sure bout your 903 but if you have very many to dig it would worth it the beg, borrow, rent a skid steer with a PHD. They dig much faster, straighter, cleaner, accurate holes. They also have great down and up pressure and reverse if needed

Thanks for response, figured that gear box is up to it. More doubtful of the frame holding up, guess I could try an ease the pressure and see what happens.

It will take lots of abuse. Just apply enough force to make it dig. As an alternative I've put small pieces of pipe on diggers to hold extra weight. Exercise weights, the plate style with about a 2 inch hole. Place 150 lbs on a digger and it makes a big difference plus one man can run it.

To get the hole straight drop the point on the ground then pull ahead or back up to get it straight up and down then to level it left or right turn the tractor left or right and use the brake to get it straight that way once you get good at you can pick up and drop the digger a couple times to get it swinging and you?ll be able to drop the point right on your mark get the auger straight and punch the hole

Good tips SV. Instead of using paint, sticks and such to mark where my hole should be I use a digger bar. It has a sharp point the end. I jab it in the ground and rotate it making a shallow cone shaped hole. The point of the auger fits right in it.
